42K for 42KM: Running For Our Friend's Recovery

Me and Jan Michael Salarda or "Puto" as we call him, "Mikee" to his family, have been friends since 2004, our freshmen year. 22 years. I found out he had a mild stroke last Sunday, and honestly this is the only thing I thought of doing that might yield something more. He's still in the hospital right now recovering, and you know how the bills are. You won't ever get 100% ready for them.

I'm merely an instrument in this. His big brother, Kuya Ivan, is the one handling it for the family, I'm just here to help however I can. And what I can do in the immediate present is RUN.

It just so happened that this Sunday, August 30, I'm doing the Sydney Marathon. It's 42.2 kilometers, and I figured why not make that distance count for something bigger than just me finishing a race.

So the goal is ₱42,000, a thousand pesos for every KM. Doesn't matter if you can only give a little, every bit helps and it's all going to Puto who needs it right now.

Funds go straight to Ivan Eugene Salarda's (his brother) GCash or Bank Account, not mine. I'll be posting updates as donations come in, and he'll confirm on his end too so everyone can see. This is his family's fight, I'll just have to use my legs.
